Boyfriend Tuna Melt
The ultimate sandwich for a hangover, a rainy day, or simply when you want to treat yourself.
This sandwich is best enjoyed with a fork and a serrated knife—I personally use a serrated paring knife, as it slices through the sandwich cleanly without squashing it, which is often the case with a standard table knife.
RECIPE
Remove the butter from the fridge ahead of time to allow it to soften at room temperature
Don’t worry about the lack of exact measurements in this recipe—it’s truly foolproof. For two sandwiches, just get one pack or piece of each ingredient and you’re all set.Whether you use a bit more or a bit less of any ingredient, it will still taste great.

HOW TO
Prepare the mixture for the filling using the ingredients listed above. Feel free to adjust the quantities to suit your taste, leave out anything you’re not fond of, or substitute with ingredients you prefer.
Chop everything very finely and mix everything together in a bowl
Cut two slices of bread to the size of your choice and spread butter ON THE OUTSIDE of each slice
Spread the prepared mixture evenly over the UNBUTTERED sides of both bread slices
Add your desired amount of cheddar cheese, then close the sandwich by placing the second slice on top
Set the stove to full heat to heat the pan briefly (1 min) and then set it to medium heat
Place no butter or oil in your pan!
Gently toast the sandwich over medium heat until the bread is crispy, golden, and the cheese inside is perfectly melted
This will take some time: Allow around 15–20 minutes for the sandwich to cook properly
